Coney Island New York is a Must Visit

If you've never been to New York, you can't say you've been unless you step onto the famous streets of Coney Island. First, it's important to understand that Coney Island is only open at certain times of the year, so you should plan your trip accordingly. The second important thing to understand about Coney Island is that it is not a single government operation.

Most Coney Island attractions close to or shortly after Labor Day. The beach and the actual boardwalk are open to the public year-round, sometimes it's just more secluded than others. Nathan's Hot Dogs and the New York Aquarium remain open after the summer season ends and are open most days year-round.

The Coney Island Museum is open on weekends from 12:00pm to 5:00pm year round. During the summer season, when tourism is high on the boardwalk, two major theme parks: Astroland and Deno's Wonder Wheel Park sponsor fireworks displays on Fridays at 9:30 am.

Coney Island amusement parks are only part of the attraction, but they serve to bring more people to this unique theme park each year. Astroland Amusement Park is the largest amusement park in New York. Cyclone is the park's most popular ride and is the most popular ride among roller coaster enthusiasts around the world. It is a wooden roller coaster that offers a fun ride. Other great attractions in this park include the Astroflume, The Break Dancer, Astroland Carousel, The Swings, Top Spin, Dante's Inferno, Power Surge and the Astro Tower. For the little ones, there is a large selection of children's rides to keep them entertained, while older children will enjoy even more immersive rides. If you're looking for a day of great food and great fun in the sun, Astroland is a great place to be.

Deno's Wonder Wheel Park is most famous for its Wonder Wheel. The cars on this cool ride are red, white and blue (right?) with red and blue cards and white parked cars. Spook-A-Rama is another popular, if not scary, ride offered at Deno's Wonder Wheel Park. If you need a dose of fun and spillage, try the Super Shot, but only if you're 52" or taller, or the Thunderbolt, which has a 48" height requirement. And what day at Coney Island wouldn't be complete without sampling supercars? There are also plenty of rides for the little ones to choose from.

For something more relaxing than the thrills and chills of the theme parks, Coney Island is also home to the Coney Island Aquarium of New York. It's a great way to learn about marine life and enjoy watching your kids observe fascinating marine life that they wouldn't otherwise see. More than 8,000 animals are represented at the New York Aquarium. Not only is it an exciting adventure for you, but you won't have to sacrifice your hair to enjoy it.

The Coney Island Museum is also worth paying attention to. In the museum, you will find memorabilia of old rides and memories of days gone by, as well as amazing views of the rides available today. Admission is available at 99 cents and it's a fun place to visit and get some time out in the sun. No trip to Coney Island is complete without at least one stop at the museum. Besides, they might be the cleanest bathrooms on the island. Coney Island is one of the best things to do while visiting New York. If you can plan your trip to New York when the parks are open and the sidewalks are busy, I highly recommend spending a weekend night off the sidewalk.
