The best places to play in New York
New York actually has a lot to offer kids, young and old, who will enjoy a little more than playing a fun game, video or otherwise. For those of you who enjoy this pastime, there are many unique opportunities in New York City to participate in the sport you enjoy most while spending time with friends and family.
Coney Island's Astroland theme park has a lot to offer adventurous players. From midway thrills and chills to the Cyclone Roller Coaster and many amazing rides in between, the park also features arcades along the way where you can play video games of all kinds. This is great for those rainy days when you can't ride or it's just too hot to stand in line. It's also a great bonding activity for mom and dad as they play games together and see who's in charge at what time.

Dave and Busters is a unique dining experience while also offering many gaming options. This is by no means your average arcade fare. It's not really a playground for your kids or their arcade games. Dave and Busters offers great food and great entertainment under one roof, and if you have the chance, I recommend taking the big baby and giving it a try.
The ESPN Zone is a great place to spend the day with the family. They offer food, entertainment and 200 TVs. Who could ask for more? Eating American BBQ style food and having fun is a big part of the sports theme and is interactive. If you're looking for a great way to bond with the kids, it's definitely better than Chuck E. Cheese, especially for slightly older kids.
The Nintendo World Store is another amazing attraction located at 10 Rockefeller Plaza. This cute store will make your kids think you're the best parent in the world when you bring them. This won't stop them from questioning everything they see, but it will buy you a few minutes of peace before they get tired of hearing the word no.
You may wish to withdraw at some point, however, as the item is only offered in this store and is not available anywhere else. Even if you have to order it and have it shipped to your home for a surprise, it's best not to wait until it's too late to find out you can't get something (at least without an expensive trip to New York). Perhaps one of the best things about this store is that your kids can try out unreleased games, so go back to school with an insider's knowledge of the latest Nintendo games and you're the best mom ever again.
Even for the tech-savvy parents among us, it's often a good idea to enjoy playing games with your kids. Even if they win or maybe especially if they win, hopefully they will be better winners than we were when we were kids. I think we should all make time to play with our little ones whenever we get the chance. They grow fast and one day they will stop asking us to play with them.
